General Note
Munoz, Nueva Ecija: CLSU, 1981. pp. 120-145. -(PCARR-CLSU Proj. 2 No. 170; Study No. II-A.6)
Summary, Etc.
The effectiveness of different ultra low volume (ULV) formulated insecticides were evaluated on the major pests of cotton. A 9,000 sq m area was divided into three blocks of six plots each where treatments were assigned at random. The criss-cross method of insect monitoring using 25 sample plants was done three days after every spraying. Polytrin C 440 EC provided the best control for aphids, leafhoppers and thrips with mortality rates of 83.42, 96.82 and 83.25%, respectively. Decis 0.5 ULV affected comparable mortality rates of aphids (74.48%) and leafhoppers (89.72%). The lowest mortality rates were recorded in Temik 15G + Sevin XLR treatment. The highest mean yield of 77.90 kg seed cotton per plot was obtained from plants sprayed with Polytrin C 220 ULV. This was followed by Polytrin C 440 EC (78.75 kg) and Decis 0.5 ULV (67.80 kg)
