Thesis (M.L.S)--University of the Philippines, Diliman
Summary, Etc.Contemporary problems arising from the tensions and conflicts generated by the great upsurge of social conscience and religious renewal taking place nowadays, have aroused the Filipino people's awareness and interest in socio-religious matters. With the aim of helping resolve such problems, many religious and laymen are now engaged in the study of this particular field
Each entry consists of the author, title, degree obtained, college attended, date and collation, followed by the location symbol. Additional information indicating purpose, procedure, findings, conclusions and recommendations are also included
Five hundred and thirty-four theses and dissertations were selected from the library collections of the various universities and colleges within Metro Manila, such as the University of the Philippines, University of Santo Tomas, Ateneo de Manila University, De la Salle University, The National Library, and the library of the Bureau of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education and Culture are included in this compilation. This number represents the output of ninety-three colleges and universities. Fifty-five theses and dissertations submitted to various universities and colleges throughout the Philippines were not available at the time the research was made and thus were not examined by the compiler
In view of the relative paucity and scattered location of the literature pertaining to this type of study, the compiler was motivated to produce this bibliography
The aim of this work is to provide a comprehensive list of researches in socio-religious studies submitted by both Filipino and foreign graduate students to the different universities and colleges in the Philippines from 1934 to 1981. This bibliography is compiled in the hope that it will contribute to the much needed bibliographic resources and serve as a ready reference to scholars, researchers, religious and laymen engaged in this particular study
Three indexes are provided, namely: Subject Index, Institutional Index, and Chronological Index
