The effect of interplanting cucurbits (watermelon, cucumber, squash, white gourd and patola) on the agronomic characteristics of cigar-filler tobacco was determined. The costs, returns and profitability of intercropped cucurbits with cigar-filler tobacco were included, as well as the incidence of insect pests and diseases, and weeds. Tobacco intercropped with watermelon had the fastest growth rate (32.8 cm), heaviest fresh leaf weight per plant (817.7 g), and the heaviest dry leaf weight per plant (133.4 g). Tobacco-watermelon combination out-yielded monoculture tobacco by 8.2%. Tobacco monoculture had the most leaves per plant. Tobacco intercropped with watermelon obtained a gross return of P5,520
