Germplasm evaluation of ordinary table/cooking tomato accessions was conducted during the 50-month period of the project. A total of 532 accessions and 37 segregants were sown but only 260 were evaluated. Many of the accessions failed to germinate and several were attacked by wilt, hence were not evaluated. Marikit and BPI Tm 1 were the bases for comparison in the selection of accessions/lines with fruits that were long and cylindrical, pear or plum-shaped and red when ripe. Out of the 77 lines that were evaluated/reevaluated, 20 processing tomato accessions were characterized. Two-thirds of the seeds produced from each and every tomato accessions evaluated was turned over to IPB-NPGRL
