Title Statement
Quantification of factors causing poor performance of selected cropping patterns in farmers fields
General Note
College, Laguna: UPLB, 1982. 86p
Summary, Etc.
The study compared the productivity and profitability of newly-developed cropping patterns and the existing cropping patterns used by farmers. Farmer cooperators of the different study areas were categorized into: Type A (farmers' cropping pattern and management levels were to be modified) and Type B (no change in cropping pattern but major improvements in management techniques were introduced). In most study areas, the recommended technology was superior over the farmers' practice. Overall average yield gap ranged from 0.39-1.81 t/ha with fertilizer as the highest individual contributor to yield gap. For joint contributions, a combination of variety + fertilizer + insect control gave the highest yield gap of 2.15 t/ha. Almost all factors (individual and joint) contributed positively to the yield gap
