Summary, Etc.The project was made up of three studies. Study 1 explored and identified naturally occuring mycorrhizal fungi in leguminous and solanaceous vegetables such as mungbean, soybean, tomato and eggplant. Study 2 was on the production and bioassay of new and effective endomycorrhizal strains in pot experiments and under field condition. Study 3 was concerned with the establishment of leguminous vegetables inoculated with strains of mycorrhizal fungi in marginally productive area characterized by adverse soil and climatic conditions. In general, seeds planted in soil inoculated with endomycorrhizal strains showed better germination percentages, grew bigger and taller, and yielded better
