Summary, Etc.The emergence and control (biological and chemical) of potato late blight were studied. The organism (Phytophthora infestans (Mont.) de Bary) gained entry or was already inside the host tissue at 100 hours or equivalent to four to five days after inoculation. Chemical control at three to five days depending on the occurrence of blight favorable days reduced the amount of infection. The different chemical concentrations to eradicate and control the disease were determined. Using the biological control, Trichoderma sp. had a faster growth rate than P. infestans after three days, and had totally outgrown P. infestans after five days. The antibiosis and lysis, however, were not clearly observed
