Two small scale field trials were conducted to assess the molluscicidal activity of tuba seed (Croton tiglium) and polynactin molluscicide. Results showed that an 8 grams per 2 liters of water per square meter of tuba seed powder can compare favorably with bayluscide at 1 gram per 2 liters of water per square meter. Polynactin, however, showed poor results when applied at 1 milliliter in 2 liters of water per square meter. Preliminary assessment on the effect of tuba seed powder on the miracidia and cercariae of S. japonicum showed 100% immobilization for both at 8 ppm within one hour.
