Summary, Etc.In this book, the intention is to give an overall picture of systems modelling and the use of simulation in agriculture. Accordingly in Chapter 1, we define the basic principles of modelling agricultural systems, while the subject of Chapter 2 is the general methodology of simulation modelling. In Chapter 3, we deal with the simulation of production systems in agriculture. In Chapter 4, the reader can become familiar with the modelling of an agricultural enterprise. The simulation of agriculture at the national level is dealt with in Chapter 5, while in Chapter 6, the modelling of international agricultural systems, the CMEA Agricultural Model and its results are discussed. The book approaches the basic issues of the agricultural applications of systems modelling from the aspect of its potential users; namely decision makers and economic analysts. It was not written primarily for mathematicians, or computer specilalists. Its prime purpose is to acquaint managers, agricultural engineers and economists working at various levels in agriculture, with this method, and to outline its potential in a readily understandable way. If this objective is realized, this book, we hope, will be a useful manual not only for agricultural engineers and agricultural economists, but also in education and management training
