Physical Description

Summary, Etc.
Kaatoan bangkal (Anthocephalus chinensis (Lamb.) Rich ex. Walp) dissolving pulp was chemicall transformed into viscose by the bench model laboratory processing to evaluate the quality and property for spinning. Of the factors studied, the low press weight, higher concentration and temperature of steeping alkali solution affected the formation of better-quality viscose in terms of a.) alkalinity and cellulose contents of the alkali cellulose and b.) viscose viscosity, and filterability index, Rw. the alpha cellulose contents ranging grom 86.60 to 94.74 percent din not affect much on the ripening degree as the viscose were deemed suitable for spinning after 4 to 22 hours.
