Title StatementFORPRIDECOM industrial extension activities: an exploratory study
General NoteCollege, Laguna: FORPRIDECOM, 1977, 96p. -(PCARRD Proj. No. 293)
Summary, Etc.This study explored the extent of FORPRIDECOM industrial extension activities to some wood-using industries engaged in the manufacture of veneer and plywood, pulp and paper, particleboard and fiberboard, as well as those involved in wood preservation. Findings revealed that the wood-using industries were reached by FORPRIDECOM industrial extension activities through print (91%) and interpersonal (73%) means. Among the different sources of information, the least mentioned was the broadcast medium, particularly radio releases/programs. On the other hand, the least reached among the respondents were the wood-preserving plants. Other aspects of industrial activities such as priority areas where research and development effects should be concentrated were also determined. Closer linkage with the wood-using industries through industrial extension activities was identified as a vital need in the enhancement of development goals. A study on the communication and diffusion variables that relate to the adoption results by wood using industries was suggested
