Summary, Etc.Basic and technological properties of bagalunga (Melia dubia Cav.), an indigenous multi-purpose tree species grown and used extensively by Leyte farmers, were investigated. The properties studied, chosen based on the information still lacking in the literature, included anatomical, chemical, sawmilling, machining, and seasoning characteristics of the wood of bagalunga. Gabalunga has medium length fibers averaging 0.961 mm. The cells are narrow with an average diameter of 0.025 mm. Lumen width averages 0.017 mm. Cell walls are thin at 0.005 mm. Runkel and Muhlsteph ratios were calculated to be 0.558 and 53.8%
