Title Statement
A study on the effect of soil inoculant - N applied alone or in combination with P and K on yield of peanut
General Note
Ilagan, Isabela: BPI, 1979. 7p
Summary, Etc.
Nine fertilizer combinations were applied to peanut plants to identify the element(s) limiting the yield of peanut. The fertilizer combinations used in this study under Ilagan, Isabela conditions (1976-1979) were: 1) 0-0-0, 2) 60-0-0, 3) 0-60-0, 4) 0-0-60, 5) 60-60-0, 6) 60-0-60, 7) 0-60-60, 8) 60-60-60 and 9) 0-60-60 + inoculant (Rhizobium). The treatment 0-60-60 + soil inoculant gave substantial yields of shelled and unshelled peanuts comparable to plots applied with complete fertilzer (60-60-60) or better than with nitrogen alone (60-0-0). The yields were also better than those uninoculated plots in all cropping seasons of 1976-1979 except in dry season of 1977. Plants treated with complete fertilizer in 1978 wet season gave a significantly lower yield than the Rhizobium-inoculated plots because the plants grew luxuriantly or over vegetatively thus producing fewer pods
