Data showed that most employers signified their preference to hire male and single technicians who are from 21 to 26 years of age. Attitude toward work, loyalty, honesty, efficiency and training (formal and informal) topped the list of factors considered by employers in hiring technicians. A decreasing demand for technician from 1978 to 1982 were projected by employers. Majority of the technicians claimed that they acquired more skills while on the job than in school.
