General Note

Summary, Etc.
Sweet potato appears responsive to various agronomic manipulation techniques. Single vine planted vertically showed significant marketable sweet potato tubers. This gave a yield of 23.04 kg/plot or a computed yield of 12.78 t/ha. This was followed by two ends out with a yield of 22.1 kg/plot or a computed yield of 12.26 t/ha. The third ranking technique was one cutting per hill slanting which gave a mean yield of 20.12 kg/plot or a computed yield of11.6 t/ha. The least was one vine circle method with a mean yield of 18.75kg/plot or 10.5 t/ha. The check, three cuttings per hill slanting, gave a mean yield of 20.12 kg/plot or a computed yield of 11.16 t/ha. It was further observed that two and three cuttings per hill slanting showed significantly more number of both marketable and nonmarketable tubers. The combined yield of interpolated nonmarketable tubers and the marketable of treatment 3 (slanting in a three cuttings per hill) was 41 t plus 11.32 or a grand total of 52.32 t/ha. At a minimum of just one peso per kilo, a farmer realized some P52,320.00 less cost of P8,000.00 or a net profit of P44,320.00/ha using this technology. The current price however, was more than P1.00/kg
