Summary, Etc.Effect of temperature on the growth, life cycle and fecundity of two lymnaeid snalis, lymnae (Radix) luteola (Lamarck) and L. (R) acuminata (Lamarck) were studied in the laboratory. The snails were exposed to 10 degrees, 15,20,,25, 30, 35 degrees C constant temperatures as well as room temperatures (14.5-32.5 degrees C) separately. Both the snail species failed to reproduce at 10 degrees and 35 degrees temperatures. Growth rate was faster in L. (R.) acuminata than in L(R) luteola irrespective of temperatures. Lymnaceae (R) luteola attyained sexual maturity at the age of 225,79,41 and 28 days and L (R) acuminated required 242,120,52 and 32 days for the attainment of sexual maturity while exposed to 15,20,25 and 30 degrees C temperatures, respectively. The rate of egg production increase with the rise of temperatures from 15 to 30 degrees C. The egg production was maximum, 1254 eggs/individual in L (R) luteola and 1842 eggs/individual in L(R) acuminata at room temperatures. In L(R) luteola maximum life span was 343, 130, 170 and 53 days at 15,20, 25 and 30 degrees C respectively, whereas L(R) acuminata survived for a maximum period of 371,228,122 and 86 days respectively at 125,20,24 and 3 degrees C temperatures. The effect of fluctuating room temperatures as well as the constant temperatures on the different life cycle parameters in both snail species are discussed
