The paper begins with a brief discussion of the magnitude of the tuberculosis problem in the Philippines. It then presents data on: (a) perceptions of community health problems; (b) awareness of community health programs and specific diseases; and (c) health workers' perceptions of priority health programs. Recent ~ studies on tuberculosis along with researches on the health-seeking behavior of tuberculosis patients and symptomatic persons within the Filipino context are also discussed.
