Summary, Etc.A five-year screening of whest lines was done to identify the lines that are relatively resistant to short-term submergence at germination stage, and high temperature and drought at the reproductive growth stage. Screening for high temperature and drought resistance were done in the field, while waterlogging resistance evaluation using earthen pots and soil or disposable petri dishes and white sand was carried out in the laboratory. About 49 entries were selected from 2,614 entries evaluated for resistance to short-term submergence. The highest percentage germination observed was 56%
