Title StatementOn the incidence of radiation and advection fog at Vancouver International Airport by D.A. Faulkner
Physical Description10p. illus
Summary, Etc.The incidence of radiation and advection fog at Vancouver International Airport, Canada, has declined during the past three decades. The cause of this is generally believed to be anthropogenic. However, coincident with the decrease, changes in the large-scale atmospheric circulation patterns have occurred, as indicated by the simple indices: Pittock's L-parameter and the 50-kPa height. Since these indices correlate significantly with the number of days with fog, it is suggested that large-scale climatic changes are mainly responsible for the decrease in fog incidence
