$aSince their inaguration, the regular meetings of the Geenral Assembly of URSI have become, for many scientists, the focal point of investigations into problems of radio science. Commission l of URSI deals with Radio Measurements and Standards. The text comprises a full account of the review papers, presented at the Tokyo General Assembly of 1963, relevant to the topics under discussion; abstracts of papers on special topics; and selected discussions. The subjects covered include: atomic and molecular standards of frequency and time; frequency and time broadcasts, frequency measurements and standards to about l Gc/s; radio measurements and standards for microwaves. The volume also serves to record the recommendations adopted by the Assembly. The text gives an authoritative account, from a uniquely international viewpoint of this area of radio science over the last three years; and illustrates the current state of knowledge of radio standards and measurement techniques.0
