Summary, Etc.Ten bleaching solutions were used to study their effects in the finishing quality of coconut and tangile lumber materials for furniture components and on the behavior of commercial lacquer. Brightness/whiteness of the bleached material was observed in all the treatments. Treatments 1 (two-stage application of commercial bleach with one hour interval) exhibited the highest value in whiteness. However, these bleaches effected brittleness on the applied lacquer and low resistance to scrapping by outside forces. Treatment 6 (application each of 10% chlorine water, 5% sodium hydroxide, 10% calcium hypochlorite and 2% hydrogen peroxide)
