Summary, Etc.One hundred thirty-seven randomly selected one sq m quadrat sample plots in Munoz, Nueva Ecija and San Fabian, Pangasinan were monitored to determine the presence of weed species associated with cotton. Results showed that 20 species of weeds grow with cotton. They were, in the order of prevalence: Cyperus rotundus, Digitaria sanguinales, Echinochloa colonum, Eleusine indica, Brachiaria distachya, Cynodon dectylon, Paspalidium flavidum, Dactyloctenium aegyptium, Tridax procumbens, Trianthema portulacastrum, Euphorbia hirta L., Commelina benghalensis, Portulaca oleracea, Amaranthus spinosus, Cleome gyrandra, Ipomoea triloba, Althernanthera sessilis, Rotala indica, Paspalum conjugatum and Lippia nodiflora. Weed association formation was influenced by the previous farming system and practices used, soil types, moisture conditions and presence of other weed species. The most dominant weed species were those not sensitive to frequent cultivation
