Summary, Etc.Production of hollow blocks using rice-hull-ash-cement (RHAC) was conducted in Calauan, Laguna to: verify the techno-economic viability, establish its comparative cost production, and determine its performance as a construction material. The formulation of one bag cement (40 kg), 40 kg RHAC, 15 ft (0.42m) palanas soil and 22.50 ft (0.64 m) volcanic cinder gave the optimum compressive strength of 86.35 vs. 67.27 psi (commercial hollow block). This mixture which yielded 180 pieces of No. 4 (8" x 16") hollow blocks cost less (P1.59/piece) and obtained higher ROI (69%)
