Summary, Etc.A total of 396 respondents consisting of 63 extension workers and 333 tobacco farmers from different towns of Cagayan and Isabela were interviewed. A structured interview was used to serve as the framework for the general information and personal data of the respondents and to determine the extent of extension workers' credibility. The farmer respondents' mean age was 46, mostly married and had an average of five children. They were residents of their respective barangays for 30 years and were landowners. Extension agents' mean age were 29 years old, agriculture graduates and employed by the Philippine Tobacco Administration on a casual basis. Respondents perceived a credible extension agent as one who possesses the safety, qualification, dynamism and sociability dimension. Inspite of the number of years the extension workers have served, only few were assigned to a permanent status. Accordingly, income must have significantly influenced their credibility. Educational attainment was also found as a significant factor in establishing credibility
