Summary, Etc.Five experiments were conducted from 1975 to 1977 to determine the effects of relay crops and time of relay planting on corn yield. Relay crops (eggplant, okra, tomato, sweet potato, melons, squash, cowpea, bush sitao, bush patani, soybean) planted 30 to 40 days before harvest did not affect corn yield (21,000 to 55,000 ears/ha). However, higher yield (55,944 ears/ha) was obtained when eggplant and okra, sweet potato and squash, cowpea and bushsitao were relay planted 30, 20, and 10 days before corn harvest, respectively. Maturity of relay crops was generally dalayed by 30 days when planted earlier with corn
