Title StatementThe effects of chemically impregnated wrappers on the developing mango fruits
General NoteEstancia, Mandaue: MES, 1985. 23p
Summary, Etc.Two trial experiments were conducted in February 1984 at the Bureau of Plant Industry-Mandaue Experiment Station (BPI-MES) in Barangay Guba, Cebu City to determine the efficiency of chemically-treated materials as wrappers for developing mango fruits. No significant differences in the fruits wrapped with chemically impregnated and unimpregnated materials such as newsprint, blue paper match, polyethylene bag, and used coupon bond. Chemicals (fungicides/insecticides) like Dithane, Manzate, Manzineb, Vitigran blue and Benlate were not effective in controlling diseases on mango fruits when impregnated in wrappers. There was no economic advantage derived from chemical impregnation of wrappers. However, it was recommended to use chemically impregnated or unimpregnated wrappers to harvest more and better quality fruits
