The main problem in the practical application of the high pressure sap displacement impregnation (HPSD) has been in devising a satisfactory cap. Such a cap must be easily fitted to different size log ends and tolerable eccentricities to give a leak proof seal. The present contribution describes a new type of cap and sealing system designed to meet these requirements
