Duke University Medical Center doctors have combined advances in two-dimensional computerized tomography (CT) with volume-rendering software to produce a three-dimensional X-ray view of the brain. The technique can diagnose intracranial aneurysms and reduce by two to three hours the often crucial period between the emergency room and operating table for patients with head injuries or severe headaches due to aneurysms
