Seven local dwarf coconut cultivars namely: Albuera Dwarf (ALD), camotes (CAM), catigan (CAT), coconine (CNO), Lingkuranay (LKY), Malayan Red Dwarf (MRD), and Tacunan (TAC) were evaluated. All the cultivars responded similarly to the different levels of ammonium sulfate and potassium chloride application thus, cultivar x fertilizer application was absent in almost all parameters studied. Fertilizer application improved the growth, enhanced the cultivars' precosity, increased both the nut and copra yields per tree, sometimes improved the fruit quality and reduced their susceptibility to leafspot at 21 and 24 months after planting. Variations in growth, flowering yield, morphological characteristics, reaction to pests and tolerance to typhoon were observed among seven cultivars. CAT, MRD and ALD were the tallest while MRD, LKY, TAC and ALD had the biggest girth. The longest leaves are those of ALD, CAT, LKY and MRD while the highest leaf producer varied from year to year. CAM, LKY, CAT and ALD flowered significantly earlier than others. Small-seeded CNO and LKY were the highest nut yielder while ALD, TAC and LKY gave the highest copra yields of more than 10 t in five years. LKY, CAM and MRD showed some degree of resistance to leaf spot over the other cultivars while MRD was the most susceptible to bud rot and lodging due to strong wind during the later stage of growth. CAT was the most susceptible to bunch fall. Bunch production per tree, nuts per bunch and copra yield per nut were moderately to highly correlated with yield and could be used as selection criteria for identifying high yielding coconuts
