Summary, Etc.A microbiological assay was performed on the test plants, Jatropha curcas and Jatropha podagraica. Leaf extract using five different solvents (as extracting media) were tested against six microorganisms. Both plants displayed anti-bacterial properties. Benzene, ethyl acetate and hexane prove to be the most efficient extracting media for the test plants as compared to the other extracting media. However, their anti-bacterial properties were limited to S aureus, B subtilis, E coli and A Faecalis
