$aThe most economical method of rattan propagation and plantation establishment were studied using four species namely: limuran (Calamus ornatres), palasan (C. merrillii), ditaan (Daemonorps mollis), and tagiktik(C. fillispadix). Among the three types of planting materials, wildlings was the most economical. The average labor cost of propagating wildlings was P8.65, P 8.67 for seedlings and P76.96 for clones. The estimated labor cost per hectare for both plantation establishment and maintenance was P5,749.40 on tissue culture derived clones and P4,263.60 for both wildlings and seedlings.
