Fresh ipil-ipil and madre de cacao leaves were incorporated into the soil one, two, three and four weeks before planting and at planting time at the rate of 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 t tree legume leaves/ha. The yield of cassava increased as the amount of legumes applied increased. However, no significant interaction was obtained among time, type and amount of legume leaves applied into the soil
