Title Statement
Seatbeat The electronic car alarm system
Summary, Etc.
The name of the project is the SEATBEAT, an alarm system design which reminds the driver and passengers of a vehicle to always wear their seatbelts. To accomplish this, the project uses a normal Morse code circuit as the core of the system. This circuit serves as the audio alarm. The alarm of the system activates when a person sits on the seat. For the alarm to be turned off, one must put on his/her seatbelt, at which case the alarms turns off. The system uses a normally-closed switch that has as its default setting closed. The alarm setting is normally on, thus the only way to turn off the alarm is to buckle the seatbelt. This system saves on power because once the seatbelt is secure; the circuit is rendered open, thus unnecessary power wasting is avoided. The system is hooked up to a separate power supply from the car battery, making it completely autonomous. The apparatus prototypes were tested for their functionality and weight limit
