Summary, Etc.Foodboards were prepared from blends of hardwood species and abaca plantation waste. The hardwood mixture was pulped using kraft process while the abaca was pulped using alkaline sulfite. The pulps were bleached using the three-stage CEH (chlorination, extraction and hypochlorite treatment) process. The blends of 80% hardwood mixture and 20% abaca was formed into foodboards in the small four-drinier paper machine. The foodboards were tested for its physical properties and compared with tetra pak specification. However, the sample did not meet the requirements of the base paper for milk containers. Additional runs were not conducted because of insufficient raw materials
