Studies on the use of organic manures for nematode control under field conditions are lacking. This investigation was, therefore, conducted to compare the effectiveness of amending the soil with animal dungs with those of inorganic fertilizer and Nemacur (5% Ethyl-3-methyl-4-methylthio-phenyl (1-Methyl ethyl) phosphoramidate) applications in controlling plant parasitic nematodes under actual field conditions; to determine the practicality of using animal dungs for nematode control and to identify some of the nematode suppressive factors present in the dungs, such as nematophagous fungi and toxic chemicals
