Summary, Etc.Yield performance of the different varieties of vegetable legumes and its resistance to pests and diseases were evaluated from 1983 to 1987 during the wet and dry seasons. For cowpea, bush sitao, pole sitao, pole lima, and winged bean varieties, highest green pod yield was obtained by IT 82D-789 (10.77 t/ha), C83-09-1-1-1 (14.34 t/ha), UPL PS2 (17.59 t/ha), PLb3 (8.33 t/ha) and UPS 121 (14.74 t/ha) during wet seasons, respectively. During dry seasons, Cp4-2-4-2 (cowpea), C83-09-1-1-1 (bush sitao), UPL PS2 (pole sitao), PLb3 (pole lima) obtained the highest green pod yield of 8.62, 11.55, 17.42 and 8.86 t/ha, respectively. These top yielding varieties were highly to moderately resistant to fusarium rot, bean rush, anthracnose and mosaic virus diseases
