Title Statement
Yield response of three soybean varieties to varying rates of NPK and plant population density
General Note
Lallo, Cagayan: Cagayan State University, 1980. 15 p
Summary, Etc.
Yield performance of three soybean varieties namely: TK-5, EGSY-99, VIC5-12 fertilized with 0, 100 and 200 kg NPK/ha planted at different population densities was studied during 1980 wet season at the experimental lot of Cagayan State University. A randomized complete block design (RCBD) experiment with split-split plot was laid out on a 1,932.49 sq m lot. Application of NPK showed that soybeans did not respond to heavy rates of fertilizer application. Only small amounts of NPK were needed to stimulate the growth of soybeans. On the other hand, a significant interaction was observed between soybean variety and population density on plant height, number of filled pods, number of seeds per plant, and yield in kilogram per plot. Of the three varieties tested, EGSY-99 was the tallest (118.56 cm), gave the most number of pods (181.73), filled pods (63.85) at 16 plants per linear meter, and highest yield (3.66 kg) per plot at 24 plants per linear meter
