Summary, Etc.Twenty-four respondents from 12 areas including Metro Manila were interviewed to assess the existing market, prevailing prices, and profit of farmers derived from Leucaena and Albizia end-products. The end-products identified for Leucaena were leafmeal, fuelwood, charcoal, and propping materials/poles, and pulpwood for Albizia. The market flow of leafmeal was the most complex, and pulpwood the simplest. Variation in prices was influenced by factors such as season of the year, distance from source, type of locality and terms of sale (delivered or picked-up by middlemen or end-users). The market systems of the products and costing per distribution channel will be sound bases for formulation of laws and policies. It is recommended that a marketing information and service center be established to help solve the problems of Leucaena and Albizia tree farmers and end-users. To increase efficiency, reduce costs or improve the functions of markets, farmers can be organized into cooperative. More in-depth studies on the marketing, and price structure of Leucaena and Albizia end-products were also recommended
