Summary, Etc.A 14-year old inarched rambutan var. Seematjan and a 17-year old inarched chico var. "Javanese" found in the University of Southern Mindanao Orchard, North Cotabato were pruned before flowering after harvesting. Data on yield and fruit quality were obtained. Pruning did not significantly affect the yield and quality of chico and rambutan. However, rambutan trees pruned 13 weeks after the last harvest gave the highest yield both in 1981 and 1982 fruiting seasons with 127.42 and 72.25 kg/tree respectively. Moreover, flowering of chico was significantly affected by pruning in both 1981 and 1982 fruiting seasons. More flowers were produced by pruned trees. Also, chico trees pruned four to six weeks before flower emergence gave the highest yield of 94.88 and 134.55 kg/tree in 1981 and 1982 fruiting seasons, respectively
