$aFive promising sweet pepper and four hot pepper entries were grown under coconuts in Tiaong, Quezon. For sweet pepper, local cultivars Sinagtala and A11 Season had more fruits than the foreign cultivars. (Sharina, California Wonder and Shanrock). Sinagtala had the heaviest yield of 4.85 t/ha and had the highest fruit number (238,669 pieces/ha). The cultivars A11 season produced 132,000 fruits/ha which was not statistically different from that of Sinagtala. For hot pepper, Red Santaka had significantly higher fruit number per hectare than BPI-Ligao, Matikas and HD-291. No significant differences were observed among entries in terms of fruit weight.
