Title Statement
Manipulation of cultural practices for ipil-ipil (Leucaena leucocephala) for maximum organic matter production and its effect on the intercropped cassava
General Note
Baybay, Leyte: VISCA, 1980. 34p. -(PCARR Proj. No. 553 Ag)
Summary, Etc.
This study determined: the effect of pruning on the growth, development, and herbage yield of ipil-ipil; the optimum planting distance of ipil-ipil for maximum organic yield; and the effect of ipil-ipil as source of organic matter fertilizer on the intercropped cassava. Pruning, plant population, and intercropping affected ipil-ipil plant height and fresh herbage yield. High herbage yields were attained at closer spacing. Ipil-ipil competed with cassava for light and space. The growth and development of cassava and the formation of tubers were affected by the rapid growth and development of ipil-ipil. Monoculture of cassava yielded high compound when intercropped with ipil-ipil
