Title Statement
Evaluation of some ratoon management practices
General Note
La Granja: PHILSUCOM, LGSES, 1982. 11p
Summary, Etc.
Ratooning practices in sugarcane (burning, chiseling, and replanting) were employed in eight treatments after the first harvest. The ratooning practices did not exhibit direct influence on the yield performance of Phil 56226 since the field was stubble shaved and fertilized immediately after last harvest. However, the yield performance (PS/TC, PS/ha and TC/ha) and millable stalks of the plant crop were higher than those of the two ratoon crops. A decreasing trend in pH and an increasing organic matter content were observed. Soil potassium increased every year while calcium decreased
