Summary, Etc.The essential oils of cinnamomum tamala and Citrus maxima exhibited absolute inhibition of mycelial growth on dera matophtes viz. Trichphyton mentagrophytes and Microsporum audoiuni. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of both the oils was found to be 500 ppm at whci they exhibited fungistatic nature, broad mycotic spectrum and long shelf life. Theor fungitoxic properties remained thermostable in nature up to 100oC. Besides, the oils showed superiority in fungitoxic potecny over some prevalent synthetic antifungal drugs.
