Summary, Etc.Six pallets from two lesser-known species (LKS) namely: bokbok (Xanthophylum excelsum Blume) and duguan (Myristica philippensis Lenn.) and one from industrial tree plantation species (ITPS), yemane (Gmelina arborea Roxb.) were designed, fabricated and subjected to two mechanical tests (drop and incline-impact) to determine the capacity of the materials to withstand impact and rough handling operations. Duguan proved to be advantageous to use than bokbok because it is lighter in weight, easier to nail and does not easily split. Pallets from yemane were also comparable with bokbok and duguan in terms of mechanical strength. No significant damage were observed in all the pallets tested
