Summary, Etc.Local cultivars of strawberries like Penicillin, Giant Royal Gem Missionary and Fukuba and collections from USA, Australia and Holland such as Aliso, Sequoin, Solisas, Fioga, Solana, Fresno and Lassen were tested at the Mountain State College of Agriculture (MSAC) Experiment Station. Results showed that local varieties were less sensitive to the local climate, resistant to leaf diseases like spot, scorch and blight and produced numerous runners. On the other hand, foreign accessions had better yield potential and berry quality although runner production was low
