$aTwenty-two okra lines were tested for partial shade tolerance in the 1988 wet and 1989 dry cropping seasons. The consistent top yielders for both seasons were 86-4025, 86-4500 and 86-46002. Line 86-4025 produced the most number of fruits (463,000 fruits/ha) followed by hybrid # 1 (416,000fruits/ha). Diwata produced the least number of fruits. Under coconuts in Quezon, two top yielders were 86-46002 (3.96 t/ha) and smooth Green (3.29t/ha). In Camarines Sur, the highest yielder was 86-46005 (4.67 t/ha). Promising entries at full sunlight might be the same entries that will perform well under partial shade.
