The aim of the study was to develop an inexpensive and field-adaptable optical fiber sensing system for hydrogen peroxide based on the luminol chemiluminescence reaction catalyzed by immobilized hematin. Specifically, the study consisted of the following phases: 1.) assembly of a suitable optical fiberbased instrumentation system; 2.) preparation of the immobilized hematin and luminol reagent phases; and 3.) characterization and optimization of performance of the hydrogen peroxide measurement system
