Summary, Etc.Package/containers made of C-flute and E-flute corrugated fiberboards were designed for head lettuce and chinese cabbage, and mango, respectively. Experimental boxes patterned from these designs were then fabricated and were subjected to laboratory and field performance tests. Laboratory tests for the vegetable container in top-to-bottom compression revealed that corrugated fiberboard box had significantly higher stacking ability compared to the traditional bamboo basket. In field performance, the damage on its content averaged 12% against 35-40% for the bamboo basket. Mango containers made from E-flute corrugated fiberboard had a two-fold function: a shipper to protect, and a display pack to advertise. Field tests on the mango containers indicated very satisfactory performance
