Summary, Etc.The different cassava genotypes in the PRCRTC germplasm collection and those used in the different yield trials were screened for resistance to red spider mite and scale insect. The mechanisms of resistance involved were also investigated. The cassava genotypes with some degree of resistance to the two pests were used in open and cross pollinations to produce pest-resistant progenies. Out of 1,568 entries selected from the the different trials, 0.06% were rated resistant (R) and 1.66%
