Summary, Etc.The bioactivity of the crude leaf extracts of Cnidoscolus chayamansa (ethanol extract, Cce; hexane extract, CcH; chloroform extract, CcC; aqueous extract CcA; and decoction, CcD) were evaluated using the brine shrimp lethality test and various vitro antioxidant assays (phosphomolybdenum method, DPPH radical scavenging activity, ferric thiocyanate method, and total phenolic contents - Folin Ciocalteu method). The extract CcC exhibited the highest antioxidant activities: 79.70 ppm ascorbic acid equivalence and 79.00 ppm butylated hydroxytolouene equivalence in the phosphomolybdenum method and 97.2% inhibition of lineolic acid peroxidation. The fractionation of the extract CcC yielded eleven fractions (CcC1-CcC11) with fraction CcC3 having the most considerable results toward the various antioxidant arrays. Purification of fraction CcC3 through a series of gravity column chromatography led to the isolation of sub-fraction CcC3.4.6. Analysis of the 1D- and 2D-NMR spectral data (1H, 13C, 1H-1H Homonuclear Correlation Spectroscopy, 1H-13C Heteronuclear Multi-Quantum Correlation, and 1H-13C Heteronuclear Single Quantum Coherence) revealed that sub-fraction CcC3.4.6 is still a mixture. The group of compounds present in fraction CcC3.4.6 includes vinyl, alcohol, ether, and ester groups. The study recommend further purification of the sub-fraction CcC3.4.6, elucidation of their structures and evaluation of their bioactivities
